Visitors can not only get to know geographic and geomorphic environment and general natural conditions along Yellow River Basin but also feel extensive and profound, abundant and splendid Yellow River Culture in limited time and space by visiting more than 600 pieces of pictures, literature, cultural relics, sculptures, etc. displayed in 6 exhibition halls at the Yellow River Museum within more than an hour.
走过黄河博物馆6个展厅，看过600多件照片、文献、文物、雕塑等，一个多小时的时间里，参观者在有限的时空中，既可以了解到黄河流域的地理地貌、自然概况，又能够感受黄河文化的博大精深、丰富灿烂。
The Yellow River is called the Mother River, representing the development history of Chinese nation. Our ancestors resided along the Yellow River, created metallurgy and bronzes and invented characters there. The situation that “various schools of thinkers discuss water” occurred. At the Museum, people have a chance to travel through time and space to talk to history through stone implements, painted pottery, inscriptions and other cultural relics. When looking back to long Yellow River Civilization, people also look back to the development process of our nation.
被称为母亲河的黄河述说着中华民族的发展史。在黄河边，祖先逐水而居，创造出冶金、青铜器，发明文字，涌现“百家论水”。在博物馆里，通过石器、彩陶、碑刻等文物，人们得以穿越时空阻隔，与历史对话。当人们回溯悠久的黄河文明，也是在回望民族发展的历程。
Tough Yellow River governance history is the epitome and reflection of spirits of Chinese nation. People’s expectation of the Yellow River which “breaks its banks, has sediment accumulation and is diverted easily” all along has always been changing the frequent situation that the Yellow River breaks its banks after governed. Water governance measures from past to present include: King Yu combating the flood, “widening the river to discharge the flood” put forward by Wang Jing in Eastern Han Dynasty, “clearing sand with converging flow” put forward by Pan Jixun in Ming Dynasty, “comprehensive governance in upper, middle and lower reaches” put forward by Li Yizhi in the Republic of China era, “intercepting in upper reaches and discharging in lower reaches, and diverting flood detention on both banks”, “maintaining the healthy life of the Yellow River” and especially the water governance thought of “saving water first, keeping spatial equilibrium, carrying out systematic governance, and playing the role of both the government and the market” put forward after the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China in modern times, etc. After knowing these water governance measures, we can truly feel that the Communist Party of China leads people to create the historic miracle that the Yellow River maintains peace all along bravely and feel strong spirits of marching forward courageously and never yielding in spite of reverses of the Chinese nation.
一部艰辛的治黄史，是中华民族精神的缩影和体现。面对素来“善决、善淤、善徙”的黄河，改变屡治屡决的局面一直是人们的期待。从大禹治水到东汉王景“宽河行洪”，明朝潘季驯“束水攻沙”，再到民国李仪祉的“上中下游综合治理”，一直到当代的“上拦下排，两岸分滞”“维持黄河健康生命”，特别是党的十八大以来提出“节水优先、空间均衡、系统治理、两手发力”的治水思路……一路看下来，可以真切地体会到，党领导人民创造黄河岁岁安澜的历史奇迹是何等壮举，中华民族勇往直前、百折不挠的精神是何等强大。
The mighty Yellow River water nourishes generations of Chinese people. The Yellow River Museum represents eternal national spirits. The Yellow River moulds distinct unyielding spirit of Chinese people, and our struggle will also endow the Yellow River spirits with new connotations.
