Exploring Dahecun Site in Zhengzhou
There is such an object, which has been rated by experts as the " unique and remarkable work in millennium". Painted with red and black,the body of the pot is connected. The two sides of the pot seem to be the same but different. It is unearthed in the Yangshao Culture period( c. 5000-3000BC ) of the Dahe Village Site -- the Twin-painted Pottery Pot, its unique shape also implies peace, friendship and equality.
Zhengzhou Dahecun Site is praised as “the village under the stars” for the colored pottery unearthed there are painted with astrology patterns. Large area of pottery workshop was found for the first time, and this discovery provides an important clue for secrets of pottery making and ornamentation more than 5,000 years ago.
Since 6800 to 3500 years ago, the ancestors of Dahe Village had been lived here for 3300 years. From Yangshao period to Longshan period, and from Longshan period to Xia and Shang Dynasties, the 12.5 meters’ thick cultural layer contains profound cultural connotation:The round-shaped settlements in large shape traces the earliest history of Zhengzhou back to 5000 years ago.
