Today Marks the Grand Opening of Kui-Mao Year Ancestral Worship Ceremony in Yellow Emperor’s Hometow

Lunar March 3 comes again with gentle breeze fluttering and spring’s spirit ubiquitous in all places.

On April 22, the Kui-Mao Year Ancestral Worship Ceremony in Yellow Emperor’s Hometown was held solemnly in Xinzheng, the birthplace of the Yellow Emperor. Following their ancestors’ footsteps, Chinese people at home and abroad got together once again in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor to pay respect to their first ancestor---the Yellow Emperor, praying for the prosperity of their motherland and world peace and harmony.

Carrying on the theme of “keeping peace and harmony as posterity from the same root, ancestor and origin”, the Kui-Mao Year Ancestral Worship Ceremony in Yellow Emperor’s Hometown was jointly sponsored by the People’s Government of Henan Province, CPPCC of Henan Province, Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (ACFROC), All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, Association for Yan-Huang Culture of China, undertaken by Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Government and CPPCC of Zhengzhou City, with support from Xinzheng Municipal People’s Government.

Kui-Mao Year Ancestral Worship Ceremony started at 9:50 am.

There were nine rituals on the ceremony:Salvo: All stood in silence for a salvo of 21 guns;

Present flowers;Hand-washing and incense-burning;Worship;Read the worship text;Sing the praise song;Worship in forms of music and dance;Pray for China;Unity of heaven, earth and man.
