The beauty of ancient books in Zhengzhou Llibrary

Numerous ancient literary works are an important part of the cultural heritage of the motherland. It records the great civilization created by the Chinese nation in written form and shows the historical process of a great nation to mankind.

Zhengzhou Library, a key unit for the protection of ancient books in China, currently has more than 50,000 volumes of ancient books, among which more than 3,000 volumes are rare. Among them, 64 are selected in the List of Rare Chinese Ancient Books, 17 are selected in the List of National Rare Ancient Books, and 53 are selected in the List of Rare Ancient Books of Henan Province.

The world's only complete copy of the "the Three Kingdoms"in Qing Dynasty, Yunfu Qunyu (The Standard Phrase Dictionary)engraved in Yuan Dynasty and the only existing copy“Si Cheng” of the Ming Dynasty in Wanli period are all rare books in existence in Zhengzhou Library.

As a non-renewable resource, ancient books are an important carrier of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the crystallization of the wisdom of the Chinese nation. It is a long way to go to repair and inherit them. Strengthening the protection of ancient books plays an irreplaceable role in promoting the national spirit and building cultural confidence.
