Located at the former site of Zhengzhou Coach Station at the northeast corner of North Huayuanlu Road, Zhengzhou Rain Garden is the first sponge park in Zhengzhou, covering an area of 14,000 square meters.
The architecture of the park is based on the Song Dynasty elements, with the galleries, running water, plant cover and micro-topography, creating a landscape of curved gallery and waterside pavilion, jagged rocks and verdant vegetation.
Dispersed sponge facilities are used to absorb rainwater, combine rainwater control with landscape, and adopt infiltration, stagnation, storage, purification, utilization and drainage to basically meet the needs of plant growth in the park.
The homophonic sound of 'Yu' means' every year have enough money to spend.', which reflects the idea of leaving blank space in classical Chinese gardens." , said the person in charge of city green square management center.
