Zhengzhou fuels green and low-carbon high-quality development
As one of the national central cities, the core city of central plain urban agglomeration, and an important leading city in the development of the Yellow River Basin, the low-carbon and high-quality development of Zhengzhou is of great significance for leading the green and low-carbon transformation of Henan Province and for promoting the ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin.
On Feb 25, the daily number of subway passengers in Zhengzhou reached 2.197,900, which is a new high this year. The rebound of subway passenger flow also reflects that energy saving, emission reduction, green and low-carbon travel modes are being indispensable for people's lives. For the citizens in Zhengzhou, the environmentally friendly and convenient features of subway have become the reason why they chose it when going out.
According to the“three batches” planing and the strategic deployment on green and low-carbon development, Zhengzhou promoted the construction of green parks vigorously. By the end of August, a total of 4.73 million square meters of green space, and 47 new parks and gardens had been built, which means the city is improving urban green capacity constantly .
In recent years, Zhengzhou has vigorously implemented ecological protection and restoration projects, completed the afforestation covering of 1,685 mu( about 112.3 hectares) along the Yellow River Ecological Belt, and built a total length of 76.5 km along the yellow ecological corridor, with flowers on both sides of the corridor and dense grass along the beach not far away. Besides, special viewing platforms are built at every other section.
Zhengzhou is committed to strengthening innovation in low-carbon technology and promoting industrial green transformation.
