Zheng Qian was born in Xingyang, Zhengzhou. In A. D. 742, he was in charge of Musical Instruments in the palace. He has collected contemporary history and written more than eighty books.
郑虔,是郑州荥阳人。天宝初年,任宫协律郎。他搜集当代史事,著书八十多篇。
Zheng Qian was an encyclopedic scholar who was excellent in poetry, calligraphy and painting. He was also proficient in astronomy, geography, military affairs, medicine and music. His biography is widely found in dictionaries such as Ci Hai and Ci Yuan, as well as professional dictionaries such as writers, poets, and calligraphers of all dynasties.
郑虔诗、书、画俱佳,还精通天文、地理、军事、医药和音律,是一位近乎百科全书式的一代通儒 ,传略广泛见诸于《辞海》、《辞源》等辞书,以及历代文学家、诗人、书画家、书法家等专业性辞典之中。
