The 21st Apricot Blossom Festival丨暖风迟日也，别到杏花肥

　　The 21st Apricot Blossom Festival of Xingyang Huancuiyu kicks off today (March 20, 2018).

　　第21届荥阳环翠峪杏花节，将于今天(2018年3月20日)在环翠峪风景名胜区拉开帷幕。

 

　　The Apricot Blossom Festival has been held for 20 times. Among the 100,000 more apricot trees, some of them have lived for more than a hundred years. Huancuiyu has been a holy place in Zhengzhou to enjoy apricot flowers and flower- enjoying has been a popular activity for Zhengzhou people.

　　荥阳市环翠峪已连续举办了20年的杏花节，10万多株的杏花，有的已经有上百年的树龄，几十年来，环翠峪一直是郑州地区赏杏花的圣地。到环翠峪赏杏花已经成为春季的全民热潮。

 

　　Green hills, clean waters and simple farmhouses can be enjoyed here.

　　Visitors could experience the freshness and plainness under the apricot tree, in the fields of wheat, on the hillside, in the rape field and in the fellow-villager's house. Stay away from the hustle and bustle, climb high and Look ahead in the distance can make oneself feel peaceful.

　　气温稳定上升，严寒已经逝去，辽阔的大地上，岸柳青青，莺飞草长，小麦拔节，杏花盛开。

　　As an auspicious element of Chinese traditional culture, apricot symbolizes happiness. In Chinese culture, apricot (xing) is homophone for "happiness" (xing) , which has the denotation of fortunes. As a kind of elegant flower, apricots are always regarded as the token of beautiful maidens, and almonds are always be compared to beauty's eyes. "Willow-leaf eyebrows and almond eyes" is a popular Chinese saying.

　　杏作为中国传统文化的吉祥元素，以杏象征幸福。杏与“幸”谐音，表示“有幸”，杏花非常美丽，常用以象征美丽的少女。杏仁则比作美女的眼睛，俗语常说“柳叶眉，杏仁眼”。
