The ancestor worship ceremony of the Yellow Emperor in the year of Renyin will be held in Zhengzhou, Henan province on April 3

The ceremony of ancestor worship in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor is a rite for Chinese Descendants to worship their ancestor ,the Yellow Emperor, in Xinzheng City, Henan Province on the third day of the third lunar month. Since 2006, the rite has been upgraded to the "Ancestor Worship Ceremony in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor".

黄帝故里拜祖大典，是华夏炎黄子孙于农历“三月三”在河南省新郑市祭拜先祖黄帝的仪式。自2006年(农历丙戌年)开始，升格为"黄帝故里拜祖大典"。

 

In 2008, The State Council identified the worship ceremony as the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage.(No. 480 Ⅹ - 32)

2008年国务院确定新郑黄帝拜祖祭典为第一批国家级非物质文化遗产扩展项目(编号480Ⅹ-32)。

 

It is saying by the ancient history books that Youxiong was the nowadays Xinzheng of Henan Province. The Yellow Emperor was born under the feet of Xuanyuan Hill, later he unified the world, and set the capital in Youxiong. According to "the Book of Changes", "the Historical Records", "The Classic of Mountains and Rivers" and other records, the hometown of the Yellow Emperor is now under the jurisdiction of Xinzheng City in Henan Province.

古代史书典籍记载有熊国在今天河南新郑，轩辕黄帝出生于轩辕之丘，后来黄帝统一天下，又定都于有熊。据《易经》、《史记》、《山海经》等记载，轩辕黄帝故里在今河南省郑州市下辖新郑市。

 

The birthday of the Yellow Emperor is the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, which is Shangsi Festival, which is a festival for the Han people to feast by the water and enjoy spring in the suburbs. There was a saying in ancient times of China that the dragon looks up on lunar February 2 and the Yellow Emperor was born on lunar March 3.There are folk activities of worship since the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 B.C.).

轩辕黄帝的诞辰是农历三月初三，即上巳节，是汉族水边饮宴、郊外游春的节日。中国自古有“二月二，龙抬头;三月三，生轩辕”的说法。自春秋战国时期民间就有三月三拜轩辕的活动。

 

The ceremony of ancestor worship in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor carries forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation, memorializes the merits and virtues of the ancestor, and highlights the theme of root-seeking and ancestor worship among Chinese people which symbolizes the blood connection and the spirits passing from generation to generation of the Chinese.
