Wofo Temple Pagoda is located on a terrace of the east bank along the Shuangji River in the western part of downtown Xinzheng. It is an octagonal seven-story pavilion style pagoda which made of small blue bricks and lime. The tower is 15 meters high and 16 meters in circumference at its base.
卧佛寺塔位于新郑市区西部双洎(jì)河东岸的高台地上,是一座八角七层楼阁式砖塔。它用小青砖和白灰砌筑而成,高15米,基部周长16米,雄伟壮观。
In 590, During the reign of Emperor Wen in Sui Dynasty, a temple was founded here but was destroyed in the war later. In 1368, the first year of Hongwu of Ming Dynasty , the temple was rebuilt. In 1465, the first year of Chenghua of Ming Dynasty, a pagoda was built in front of the temple, called Wofo Temple Pagoda.
隋文帝开皇十年(590年),该处创建寺院,后毁于战乱。明洪武元年(1368年)又修建寺院,明成化元年(1465年)在佛寺前建佛塔,名叫卧佛寺塔。1987年3月1日公布为郑州市重点文物保护单位。
