Zhengzhou decorated with lanterns to celebrats Chinese Lantern Festival

The Lantern Festival is a traditional Chinese festival, which means the end of the Chinese New Year. It ‘s always the first full moon in the lunar New Year. Generally, Chinese people celebrate by hanging up lanterns and festoons, attending dancing and singing performances, making“Yuan Xiao”or sweet rice dumplings and lighting fireworks.

In Zhengzhou, the city launches varies activities in all Zones, Districts, and Counties (county-level cities) , and the streets are decorated with lanterns, which accentuates the happiness of the festival.

On Culture Square alongside Ruyi Lake of Zhengdong New District, visitors and citizens could enjoy lots of performances and activities like equestrian scenes, interactive VR activities etc,. in the “wonderful tour” on Lantern Festival; Zhanyuan Garden in Erqi District hangs many lantern riddles in the garden corridor, and visitors can experience traditional activities such as stove-boiled tea, pitch-pot and so on.

Xinmi has been in a week-long special activity for the Lantern Festival from the end of January, which including performance on stilts, magic and acrobatic shows, opera performances, square dancing, and Dengfeng helds a folk lion dance competition, which attracting many citizens to watch.
