Shaolin Temple, the resource place of Chinese Buddhism

Shaolin Temple is at the foot of Songshan Wurufeng Peak in Dengfeng, Zhengzhou City, Henan Province. It is named Shaolin Temple for its location in the dense jungle of Shaoshi Mountain, back land of Songshan. It is the patriarch of Zen Buddhism and one of the birthplaces of Chinese Kung Fu. It is a World Cultural Heritage, a national key cultural relics protection unit and a national 5A-level tourist attraction.
少林寺，位于河南省郑州市登封市嵩山五乳峰下，因坐落于嵩山腹地少室山茂密丛林之中，故名“少林寺”。它是中国佛教禅宗祖庭和中国功夫的发源地之一，世界文化遗产、全国重点文物保护单位、国家5A级旅游景区。

Shaolin Temple was built in the 19th year of Taihe (495) of the Northern Wei Dynasty. It was built by Emperor Xiaowen at the northern foot of Shaoshi Mountain, opposite the capital Luoyang of the day, in order to accommodate the eminent monk (the last disciple of Buddha Sakyamuni), the Indian monk whom he admired. The Changzhu Yard occupies an area of about 57,600 square meters.
少林寺始建于北魏太和十九年(495年)，是孝文帝为了安置他所敬仰的印度高僧跋陀尊者，在与都城洛阳相望的嵩山少室山北麓敕建而成，常住院占地面积约57600平方米。

Shaolin Temple，the world famous Buddhist temple, is the resource place of Chinese Buddhism, occupies an important position in the history of Chinese Buddhism, and is known as "the world's first Temple". Shaolin Temple is famous all over the world because of the shaolin monks' painstaking research and continuous development of Shaolin kung fu. It has been said that "Shaolin kung fu is the best in the world".
少林寺是世界著名的佛教寺院，是汉传佛教的禅宗祖庭，在中国佛教史上占有重要地位，被誉为“天下第一名刹”。因其历代少林武僧潜心研创和不断发展的少林功夫而名扬天下，素有“天下功夫出少林，少林功夫甲天下”之说。

In August 2010,the Historic Monuments of Dengfeng in "The Centre of Heaven and Earth", including Changzhu Yard,Chuzu Convent,and Pagoda Forest, are listed as world cultural Heritages by UNESCO.
2010年8月，包括少林寺常住院、初祖庵、塔林在内的天地之中历史建筑群被联合国教科文组织列为世界文化遗产。

A. Take the special tourist bus to Dengfeng at the long-distance bus station opposite Zhengzhou Railway Station;
B. There are shuttle buses to Dengfeng Bus in stations of Zhengzhou.From Zhengzhou Long-distance Bus Station to Dengfeng, the travel time is about 2 hours, including 1 hour on high-speed, then shift to a minibus, then arrive the destination in half an hour.There are direct tourist buses in front of the train station, with fewer buses. The driving time depends on the number of tourists, and the journey takes about half an hour.

A.在郑州火车站对面的长途汽车站乘坐发往登封的旅游专线车;
B.在郑州各个长途客车站，都有发往登封的班车。从郑州长途客车站乘车至登封，行程约2小时，高速约1小时，下车后原地转中巴，不出半个小时即到。火车站前有旅游直达车，车较少，开车时间视人数而定，约1小时到。
