改革开放40周年，外企爱上郑州丨 Foreign companies in Zhengzhou

　　Whenever looking back, we can recall some special moments. The reform and opening up, a decisive policy introduced in 1978 changed China and even the world. In the past 40 years of concerted efforts and unremitting exploration, Zhengzhou has made remarkable progress.

 　　The 40 years has witnessed one achievement after another created by Zhengzhou: the urban built-up area has increased more than six times to 456.6 square kilometers; the comprehensive strength has improved significantly; the population has rose from 4.379 million in 1978 to 9.881 million in 2017, the urbanization rate from 32.4% in 1978 to 72.2% in 2017, and the GDP from 2.03 billion yuan in 1978 to 913.02 billion yuan in 2017. On December 26, 2016, the State Council officially approved Zhengzhou’s building a national central city, and Zhengzhou's development has entered a new stage.

　　改革开放40年来，郑州中心城区城市建成区面积增长6倍有余，达到456.6平方公里。郑州城市综合实力大幅提升，人口从1978年的437.9万人增至2017年的988.1万人，城镇化率从1978年的32.4%增至2017年的72.2%，GDP从1978年的20.3亿元增至2017年的9130.2亿元。2016年12月26日，国务院正式批复，支持郑州建设国家中心城市，郑州发展迈入新台阶。

　　In recent years, Zhengzhou has pushed forward investment projects from the scale, service and level. For example, from January to October this year, the domestic and foreign funds introduced by the city totaled 194.82 billion yuan, up 8.4% from a year earlier. 44 new “four power” (international influence, domestic radiation, integration of domestic and foreign resources, and high growth) projects were signed with a total contract value of 132.75 billion yuan, accounting for 1/3 of the total contract value of all projects in the city. The average investment amount of an individual project exceeded 3 billion yuan. Once put into operation, these projects will achieve noteworthy results and greatly promote Zhengzhou’s economic and social development. Zhengzhou will further develop its leading industries and explore leading-, base- and guiding-type projects relying on its strength in location, transportation, culture and national strategies.

　　近年来，郑州市招商引资工作更是有力度、有温度、有高度。比如今年1~10月，全市引进境内外资金总额1948.2亿元，同比增长8.4%。全市新签约44个“四力型”项目，签约总额1327.5亿元，约占全市签约总额的1/3，平均单个项目投资额超过30亿元，这些项目的投产将有力推动全市经济社会发展，成绩值得肯定。郑州正进一步发挥区位优势、枢纽优势、文化优势及国家战略叠加优势，围绕主导产业定位，抓住龙头型、基地型和引领型项目。

　　Zhengzhou IKEA is to debut next summer

　　郑州宜家明年夏天亮相

　　There is a weekend leisure called “One-day Tour in IKEA”. IKEA, a Swedish brand founded in 1943, set up its first store in Huiji District, Zhengzhou, Henan, with a business area of over 30,000 square meters, which is expected to open next summer.

　　有一种周末休闲方式，叫“宜家一日游”。宜家家居，这个创建于1943年的瑞典品牌，在中国河南布局的第一家商场落户郑州惠济区，预计明年夏天开业，营业面积超3万平方米。

　　

 

　　In 2012, Zhengzhou Huiji District sent delegations to IKEA headquarters for project negotiation; in 2014, IKEA conducted a field survey in Zhengzhou, finalized the site in 2015 and signed a formal agreement with Zhengzhou Huiji District in 2016; in 2017, IKEA gained the land use right for the project; and in 2018, the project is being pushed forward steadily... Zhengzhou and IKEA have worked together for 6 years.

　　从2012年郑州惠济区去宜家总部洽谈，到2014年宜家来郑州考察选址、2015年敲定位置，再到2016年宜家与惠济区签订正式协议、2017年完成土地摘牌、2018年项目建设稳步推进……其实，郑州与宜家已经携手共进6个春秋。

　　

 

　　With the total business area of approx. 36,200 square meters, the upcoming Zhengzhou IKEA store has three floors, including home furnishings area, home supplies area, furniture self-delivery area and customer restaurant, and provides more than 9,500 products and nearly 800 free parking spaces. It is reported that in Zhengzhou IKEA store, we can find some customized products for Zhengzhou buyers in addition to its iconic products such as Lack side tables and Swedish meatballs, etc.

　　即将开业的郑州宜家商场，整体营业面积约为36200平方米，共分三层，包括家居展间、家居用品区、家具自提区及顾客餐厅等，涵盖9500多种产品，并提供近800个免费停车位。据悉，在郑州宜家，不仅有诸如拉克边桌、瑞典肉丸等宜家标志性的商品，还会出现一些为郑州买家定制的商品。

　　“2019 IKEA Catalogue is centered on meeting different demands in home life. Goods in Zhengzhou IKEA store will be distributed based on consumption features of Central Plains people to better meet the needs of consumers in Zhengzhou and even in Henan for furnishings”, said Song Ying’ai, vice president of retails in IKEA China. With the increase in online sales of IKEA, IKEA's distribution system will accordingly be improved. IKEA is optimistic about Zhengzhou market for its location advantage and growth potential. The building of Zhengzhou national central city is speeding up; the asterisk-shaped high-speed rail network has made Zhengzhou a core city in the central region; Zhengzhou’s attraction for people ranks among the top in China; Zhengzhou financial center grows faster than any other cities in the country; “land, online and aerial” silk roads are advanced simultaneously. All these explain the huge development potential of Zhengzhou in the future.
