The science park of Zhengzhou University next to it, is an important part of Zhengzhou-Luoyang-Xinxiang National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone.

Despite years of development, the supercomputing center is still a relatively unfamiliar word to the public. Supercomputer refers to a computer with thousands or more processors that can compute large and complex tasks that ordinary computers and servers cannot complete. It is regarded as a national treasure and an important symbol of a country's scientific and technological development level and comprehensive national strength.
尽管已有多年发展历史，超算中心对于大众来说，仍是一个比较陌生的词汇。超级计算机，是指由数千甚至更多处理器组成、能计算普通计算机和服务器不能完成的大型复杂课题的计算机，被誉为国之重器，是国家科技发展水平和综合国力的重要标志。

FLOPS is short for floating point operations per second, a measure of a computer's computing power. A pflop (petaflop) is equal to one petaflop per second. 100PFlops is equal to a trillion floating point operations per second. One day of work on such a supercomputer is equivalent to more than 10,000 years of work on an ordinary computer.
据介绍，FLOPS是每秒所执行的浮点运算次数的英文缩写，用来衡量一个电脑的计算能力。一个PFLOPS(petaFLOPS)等于每秒1千万亿次的浮点运算，100PFlops等于每秒十亿亿次的浮点运算。这样的超级计算机工作一天，相当于普通电脑工作一万多年。
The team at the National Supercomputer Center in Zhengzhou is working to make supercomputers more down-to-earth, whereas traditional supercomputers are mainly used for scientific purposes. According to the "14th Five-Year Plan" New Infrastructure Construction Plan of Henan Province in 2022, the supercomputing capacity of Zhengzhou National Supercomputing Center will be continuously improved, and its computing performance will remain among the top in the world, and the resource utilization rate will reach 70%.We will expand the featured applications of the National Supercomputing Center in Zhengzhou, implement a number of supercomputing innovation ecological projects in key fields such as digital economy, precision medicine, biological breeding, high-end equipment and artificial intelligence, and build a national supercomputing application hub.
传统的超级计算机主要是服务于科学领域，而国家超算郑州中心团队正在做的，就是让超算更‘接地气’。2022年《河南省“十四五”新型基础设施建设规划》提出，持续提升国家超级计算郑州中心超算能力，运算性能保持国际前列，资源利用率达到70%。拓展国家超级计算郑州中心特色应用，围绕数字经济、精准医学、生物育种、高端装备、人工智能等重点领域实施一批超算创新生态专项，打造全国超算应用高地。
